Awards & Special Prizes
The films chosen for the “Best of Future” selection by the jury are presented to the public at monthly screenings at Cineum Cannes.
Selected films are informed by the Festival, and no film is shown without the agreement of the director/production.
Note: at this stage, French subtitles are a “must-have” for all foreign-language films.
The public will vote for their favorite films, best representing the Future Wave of Cinema.
These votes are counted once a year, and a “Best of Future – Audience Award” will be presented to the year’s grand winner at our annual event.
We’re also organizing a Q&A session with the filmmakers who may be present (in person and by video).
Note: WFFiC does not require a world premiere, but appreciates being informed if your film is a world premiere, an international or European premiere (your premiere outside your country of origin), or a national premiere.
All monthly winners are automatically entered into the annual competition for a chance to receive a prestigious custom-made metal statuette, the “Luciole d’Or”, designed on the French Riviera, and the opportunity to have their film screened in Cannes, the world capital of cinema.

Special Awards will be unveiled throughout the year leading up to the annual Awards Ceremony, to be held at the Cineum Cannes on June 15, 2024, where we’ll be hosting “Best of Future” screenings featuring some of the annual Grand Winners.
Awards & Special Prizes
- All Official Selections, Semi-Finalists, Finalists, Nominees, Winners and Honorable Mentions will receive official laurels.
- All Finalists, Nominees, Winners and Honorable Mentions will be listed on our website and social networks.
- Monthly and Annual Winners and Honorable Mentions will also receive an official personalized HD digital certificate.
- All Winners have the opportunity to purchase a prestigious personalised metal statuette, the “Luciole d’Ordesigned on the French Riviera.
- Finalists, Nominees, Winners and Honorable Mentions have the opportunity to book an interview with our journalists. We guarantee that your interview and trailer will receive high visibility thanks to massive media coverage on our social media platforms and website.
- All Nominees, Winners and Honorable Mentions can add their credits on IMDb.

We will be awarding Honorable Mentions for certain categories.
The “Honorable Mention” is an additional distinction in the Official Competition. In other words, the Jury does not intervene; it is awarded exclusively by the Festival directors. Here, works that stand out from the rest will be rewarded, in terms of their overall appearance, their concept, their
aesthetics, and/or their particularly brilliant performance in terms of direction, photography, editing, acting and/or soundtrack.
